Hey, all I know is i want to go travelling, australia and new zealand are top of my list. I was planning on heading to aus around the end of the year once i've got my funds together. Just haven't got a clue what to do about booking flights (when best to and where to go first) or what to do when you land and how to meet people.
Hi Ollie,
March will be a great time to come to Australia, particularly the southern states as it will be the start of autumn (fall) so the weather should still be nice but not too hot.
If you are planning on travelling to the northern part of Australia, which I recommend you do, the best time will probably be May to September as that is the dry season (southern Aust winter) so it won't be as wet or humid but still a nice temperature in the mid to high 20's or possibly even low thirties.
The wet season up north (southern summer) is still lovely as long as you can tolerate the heat and high humidity. Prices are usually cheaper too.
As for accommodation, I usually prefer to find some once I get to a location as you can "usually" get standby rates which can be much less than the standard rate.
I'd suggest booking 1 or 2 nights for when you first arrive in Australia and then shop around.
Good luck with the trip.

Hey, to be honest im not going to be much help but im heading out early September for the year.
At the moment I'm debating on wether to sign up to one of these starter packs from someone like oz intro. Or wether to just do it all independently. So im also looking to chat to people who are heading out around the same times.
Griz xx
