When you hit Guatemala / Belize, there are several options. Belize is beautiful (espcially Toledo District) but very expensive compared to Guatemala. When in Guatemala, I would stay max one or two nights in Antigua, instead head to Xela (Quetzaltenango) to find your bearings and plan your Guatemala stay. If you're into hiking, definitely take a trip to Santiaguito - there are a number of reputable companies that will take you just across from the crater where you can witness up-close and personal it's power, it erupts ash and rock several times a day!
