though I don´t know any specific place there, a good way to meet people anywhere you go, is simply to do activities you enjoy. Join a class you are interested in or simply join a sport team. That way you´ll have good chances to meet like minded people.
I know my recommendation might sound obvious, but sometime we tend to forget the simple things...
You can find a lot of free events worth attending on sites like Meetup.com also. Nice way to meet people with similar interests and generally everyone at these events is very open to meeting new people, so it's quite a good place to start.
Share housing can works wonders, depending on how long you are staying and with whom you are staying with, like minded people (friendly socialliable people) will have friends and events you can join in.
