Why do you travel?

Hi everyone

Last year, I spent almost 5 months in France; 4 months just by the Swiss border and 2 weeks in the Loire Valley. It was the first time I'd travelled outside of the UK and I really loved it.

Anyway, it kind of made me interested in all the different reasons for wanderlust. I also wanted to see if travellers were satisfied with the wealth of information out there and if there was any demand for a different kind of guide book!

If you're interested in taking the survery, here's the link:

Thank you to everyone who takes it but if you don't want to, I'd also be very interested to hear your thoughts here in the forum

Hi Kirsty,

Outside survey links are not allowed in the forums without prior approval of the Administrators. Most linked surveys are for educational research projects or travel-related companies trying to define an advertising demographic (target research).

Since you have stated you are willing to just accept comments in this thread, I'm willing to let it stand as long as it is for gaining personal knowledge about the subject matter. Members are willing to express their opinions in the forums. But, with surveys, 99.9% of the time, they are not given credit for their replies nor do the surveyors post the results even when they have agreed to those terms. It's made many members angry in the past - and there was an onslaught of them for awhile - hence instituting the ban unless there was pre-approval.

Happy you enjoyed your travels!

Isa now returns this thread to it's regularly scheduled topic.

If you like hiking/walking, try the Camino de Santiago from Roncesvalles to Santiago de Compostela. All in the North of Spain and well organized for accommodations, etc.
