3 weeks in Nepal and India

Hi,

Greetings from Nepal....... It happy to know that you are coming this wonderful land and hearty welcome.
Regarding the Nepal trip if you need any assistance please let me know here.

As march /april is good time to trek in mountains. As you mentioned that you have one week time for trek. Ghorepani-poonhill trek will be best. But If you love to do more adventure or learn the local culture 'Tamang heritage Trial' , or 'langtang' may also suite you.
for R&R pokhara and chitwan may be the best place that i would suggest.

regards

Hello... I am Happy to know that you are planning to visit India and Nepal. Trekking in India is one of the famous adventure sports. There are many possibilities for trekking tours, mountaineering, skiing, and river rafting tours. In India Trekking enthusiast can also explore the beauty of the lofty mountains. march/ April is best for trekking.

Hey, I am thinking that one of you knowledable people may be able to answer my question.

I am visting Nepal in Dec / Jan this year and have been looking at travel insurance. Basically the company I normally go with does cover trekking and they do not specify a maximum altitude (provided no specialist ropes are used) but what they do not cover is mountain or helicopter rescue. We are planning to do trek of around 8 - 10 days duration but am not sure of which one as yet.

What I would like to know is whether trekking companies in Nepal can arrange for the mountain resuce / helicopter rescue portion of travel insurance locally once you arrive , or alternatively can anyone recommend a good company (in Australia) for insurance which offers this level of cover.

Thanks guys!
Alex.

We travelled through Nepal and India (and Pakistan) in 2010/2011. Nepal was perfectly calm and seems to be settled now. With three weeks, are you planning to travel overland (buses and trains) or by air? We had six weeks - five hectic weeks of bus and train travel and sightseeing and a week at Palolem, Goa on the beach relaxing. Since you're already seen India, have you visited Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Mumbai? We went to all of them on the way to Goa and had a great time in each - a selection on the way down might be the way to go. Enjoy your travel!
