I hope you have rooms booked. Rooms are expensive that time of year and anything not too expensive was booked up months back.
I would love to go to Carnival are you buying ?
I was in Rio for Revelion which was by far the best NYE party ever. Iguassu is very beautiful too.
I booked accommodation 8 months before for Rio then it was easy to find low cost apartment on the beach copacopana not too expensive once there depending on how you want to live.
My friend and I are venturing over to Rio for Carnival and are in a similar position. It would be ideal if we could find fellow travelers to explore Rio.

Now this is strange because I'm doing almost your exact itinerary ! I'm doing Salvador for 2 nights carnival then off to Rio then Florianopolis and then Iguassu. When do you plan to arrive in Salvador ?

Would be wonderful to meet up. I am in salvador from 6th until the 9th and in rio from 10th until the 14th. Going to the Sambadrome on the 11th. haven't planned anything beyond that yet. Except that i'm flying out from iguassu to rio on the 23rd.
