Any desire to head out earlier than July? I, too, am a teacher-in-training (graduate in Dec!!). I'll be backpacking around the U.K. starting in March. I definitely understand about needing a break from the stress of it all! Although I would guess that you will probably be in school/work prior to July, I would love to have company!

Yes the desire to head out ASAP however work preventing me so will have to be July!
What are your plans then?
No idea of where I want to go but am thinking Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam - although an uncle in Bali would appreciate a visit

I wasn't even thinking, and when I saw about you being from the UK, I immediately thought of you traveling there in addition to Cambodia, etc. Your trip sounds like a blast though! I'm planning on backpacking the western Europe area (Ireland, England, France, Spain) March - July/August 2013. Have a wonderful time on your trip! Your uncle is blessed to have you thinking of visiting him.

I realise this is not very recent however i noticed that you were looking for a travel buddy who also lives the live of a teacher and uses the summer holidays for travel I am a 23 year old female teacher in Edinburgh, Scotland. I graduated in June 2011. I feel we might share the mostly joy but also sympathy for hard work we do all year, which is why we are lucky and should use our summer holidays seeing the world I have also been quite well travelled however I have never been to Thailand and around. I have wanted to go for sometime however nobody else is in the position to do so. I am hoping to go end of June/ start of July for about a month... I would need to be back for mid August for school. I notice you have been before... do you know if the set tour month with groups seems worthwhile e.g. real gap or do you think you may be restricted if you met Others. However I would like to think I could go alone and know for sure it would all be great and fine but I don't think I am brave enough and dnt like to be alone much.
I would appreciate if you got back
