Hello. Depending on how my RTW trip unfolds next year, I will be trying to hit Africa at some point. I will either end up in the very north or the very south of the country - just depends on my overall route. Though my interests are broad, I guess you could say as far as Africa goes that I am looking towards impressive wildlife variety and incredible natural sites.
Although I yearn to visit Botswana, and will be visiting Egypt next week, I can tell you how much I loved south-eastern African countries.
I strongly recommend Mozambique. Wow. Maputo was a bit much when we first got there, but grew to love it! The fish market is amazing and there small cooking-establishments behind it (I wouldn't necessarily call them restaurants, but you could if you want). There are little boys who run around making money brokering deals for you and scoring fresh fish and arranging for it to be cooked in one of the places in back.
It's a great deal! It's fun! It's delicious! It's even romantic! Do it. Go for an early lunch, when the fish is freshest.
Malawi was also amazing, but totally different. I'd strongly recommend the Ilala -- it's like a blast from the past and quite fun. I really didn't notice much difference between the food for 1st class (renting a cabin) and third class (camping out on deck as 2nd class, but going down below for their food). So I'd say take an adventure and go downstairs, climb over those bags of maize, interact with everyone and their children, goats, chickens, etc. Also, Nkhata Bay is awesome. I didn't like Muzuzu.
South Africa was pretty cool. I liked Cape Town & Knisna -- we had a great road trip along the coast. I really didn't like Johannesburg.

Uganda has some of the best game parks in Africa blessed with magnificent scenery and abundant wildlife immersed in a spectacular landscape. Unlike other game parks in Africa, these game parks have not been affected by mass tourism and efforts have been made to preserve the natural settings of these untouched wildlife.
If adventure is anything you want to experience then look no further than the Pearl of Africa, Uganda.
Both Morocco and Algeria are worth seeing, although it's tricky to navigate between the two since the boarder is closed. But if you fly to Tunisia (a country worth seeing) you can head into Algeria from there.
There is so much to see in Morocco but I highly recommend spending some time in the Atlas Mountains and the Ourika Valley. They are amazing and full of decent treks. Fes, Essouaria and Agadir are also decent places. And if you're not in want of travel companions you can rent apartments in the city which give you a great insight into the community.
Algeria doesn't have much of a reputation but the people are amazing. I have never met such genuinely helpful and friendly people. As a single lady who travels alone a lot there is a certain level of harassment to be expected in N. Africa and a certain level of possibly dicey situations. But in Algeria I was treated with the upmost respect. It as amazing.
I like very much Morocco, it is worth to visit. Take time when you are there, not have hurry from place to place. You can check here -snip-
Regarding Agadir, it is not worth to go there, it is very touristy and not so nice city. Better Essaouira or Sidi Ifni or other cities around costs.
What I prefer to visit is Erg Chebbi, very beautiful place there it is not only sand dunes but much more than that.
Or go and visit all old kasbah around Ouarzazate as Ait BenHaddou, Taloute etc. or got to Dades Valley. There are even Todra Gorge and Todra Dades both worth to visit too. Or Draa Valley.
It is really amazing everything in Morocco. And people too. You will like it!
there are quite few countries that i can suggest(iam from the southern part of africa).first of all if u love the wildlife, you could start off with kenya nairobi and dont forget to visit the coastal town of mombasa while you are there.down south we the victoria falls up north next to the zambian border and other wildlife parks and 5star accomodation in the wild.there is the beautiful overflowing okavango delta that runs from botswana and into angola.u can also also get to ride mokoro boats in the okavango and plenty of other activities await you.
namibia id would say is for those who are adventurous.they have namib desert sand dunes in swakopmund and while on top of these dunes right across the road is the ocean.its the most spectacular view ever.they have activities such as riding quad bikes on the dunes,sand surfing(but ul have to close ur mouth while doin this), and a whole lot of other activities.
south africa has a lot to offer,with so many places to visit such as capetown,joburg,durban etc.capetown is probably the ideal place for tourists because of table mountain,robben island,the beach and other historical areas.durban is also a historical place and you will want to emmense yourself into their culture and mingle with tourist to feel the real flavour of africa while you are there.
last but not least is joburg,there is a lot to do while in joburg but its best not trust anyone while walking around ther because there are a lot of crooks there who are very good at seizing up tourists.the crime rate is realy high so u have to watch ur back at all times,but other than that its a very lovely city and you will enjoy it,if ur with the right company.
