hi there.. me and my partner are going travelling around canada, america and south america next year.. we plan to spend about 6 weeks in canada, 6 weeks in america and about 8-10 weeks in south america.. i was wondering if anyone has done this and if you have could you please give me some advice.. we wondered about costs in each country, ie accomodation and food. we are willing to stay in basic hostals and eat as cheap as possible. I have been told that in south america it is quite difficult to get around!!
Also we were wondering about costs of getting around on coachs and buses and what the average cost of each country would be for a week or so.. If anyone knows of any good flight details that would also be great. Thanks very much. Steph x

Im probably going to get the lonely planet guide for canada, usa and south america but havent got them yet as we are not planning on going until feb/march 2013.. I was planning on getting them within the next month or two. Are there any guides you would reccommend or do you think the lonely planet would be ok? Cheers. Steph
