Group travel Adelaide-AliceSprings-Airlie Beach 6/1-23/1'12

Hi everybody!

Just some advice here: This is a journey of some 3800 kilometers (4300 kilometers if you want to stop off at Uluru on the way), which over a period of 17 days means 225 kilometers of driving every single day. That's a frickin' lot of time spent in the car, with really not a whole lot of interesting scenery to look at. Not to mention that it's the middle of summer, and will be really, really hot in the red centre, and that when you start heading east beyond Adelaide, you'll be driving straight into the middle of the wet season there, which means torrential rains and rather unpleasant humidity.

In other words: I'd slightly rethink your plans.

The route between Alice Springs and Airlie Beach is not for touristic purposes, it's just too expensive to travel by plain. So we do that part in maybe 3 days if possible. Reason why we do it now? We leave Australia the 1st of february so we must do it now We'll survive and have fun
