I am too in my thirties...I travel alone and love it! I think you just gotto forget about age and go with the flow. I am sure you will meet like minded people along the way even if you have to party a little bit more than usual! You are in your 30's not 70's!
Wish I was 30 again! You will come across travelers in all ages overseas in Asia. Many retirees finally have the time to visit overseas and many of them do it. There are some people in your age bracket that take all of their yearly vacations overseas.
Don't sweat it! You will have a good time. Many people like to travel alone because there is NO bickering on where to go and what to see. When alone you do what you want and when you want!
I am also in my late 30s, and although I mostly travel with my family (husb and kids) on a budget, I find that I am glad I am a bit older, wiser (debatable, I suppose) and less likely to be trying to stretch each dollar as far as possible.
We have a good time, and while we often end up hanging out with other people with kids, we enjoy knowing that we are making our own decisions and blazing our own trail. We share stories and relive our youth when we talk to those younger, and hope we are still travelling and adventuring when we meet those older and wiser again!
