Hi There i m traveling to bangkok and then to phuket.. between Jan 25th to Feb 9.. can we let me know who will be there when, so we could plan something?
i'm not sure i'll be around by then because the original plan would be on the 20-23rd jan but i will let you know if there's any change of dates.

I'm thinking of heading to Thailand (or a nearby country) around Feb- will you be around?

if heading to Patong,just get a taxi from the airport or bus terminal and ask for Bangla road...The taxi will drop you off right at the end of Bangla road,there you are pretty much spoilt for hostels/hotees and guest houses..Both times ive been ive just walked in off the street and got a room straight away,although be prepared to pay a little more than usual as everything is more expensive in phuket (patong)..usually around 7-800 baht a night minimum!!!
maybe better if you stay on Kata or Karon beach,its just a few miles along the coast from patong,more quiet (not as many russians) and abit cheaper and generally alot nicer...cost only 2-3 baht to get to patong if you wanna go clubbing...

it do helps. i need as many advice as i could get since this is my first time travelling to phuket and i dont understand thai language. so i'll make sure i'll always bring along small dictionary? lol perhaps they'll appreciate better if we know some little thai words or at least try to speak their language, and out of respect to their culture too.
i've plan to stay in patong since it is a walking distance to everywhere. can kata or karon beach supply that?
