Hey I am 21 and female. I am looking for anyone who is in the same boat as me. I will be arriving in Brisbane at the end of January and hope to find any bar, farm work. I wonder if anyone is in need of company to do this.... Very daunting going on your own and would appreciate any tips or day trips that would help make my trip. I am taking a year out and hope and pray that I meet loads of people willing to do any adventures trip I would love to do the reef, harbour bridge, just anything exciting!! I am a 23 year old girl from Norway also going alone for the first part of my trip. I am not going to work though, just travel down the East Coast for a couple of weeks. I arrive in Brisbane late on the 24th January. I am trying to look into accommodation for my first nights now, but it is hard to figure out what is good, safe and everything.
If anyone has any good tips for accommodation when traveling alone in Brisbane, all tips are appreciated. Also, if anyone would like to meet up, let me know.
Hey I have arrived and currently staying with someone i met back in uk. I have interview for recruitment agency and just wondering what is the done thing..... I really want to start meeting people in city. I wanted to know if soemoone has done similar to this... I am keen to move into a hostel but is that what you do like stay there for month work? or would it be best to find a flat/lodger? i have no idea how this works and any tips on next steps would really help me. I plan to stay in brisbane for a few months but wondered whether hostels are my best option???

Well I have had some interviews for office work (which is temporary stuff but v well paid) and also handed in my resume in bars and a local sports club i live near to. I have done my RSA and everything but its just a waiting game. Renting sounds great..how have you found this? I am currently staying with a couple who moved here not long ago but keen to make some friends!! They live in Capalaba which is outside of city.
