Hi!
Where are you coming from. Normally the airlines have package deals that are pretty good for Disney destinations when purchased in a package deal with air transportation. If you're coming from Europe, I would still contact your carrier for deals. $50. is cheap for a room near Disney - seems to me that $80. would be the norm there. Try for cheaper shared accommodation - I see one as low as $29. in Orlando listed. Remember you'll also need a car in most of these places - local transit in these areas is not good.
If you are going to be in Florida most any time between January and April, you will be hard-pressed to find 'cheap' accommodations. You'll be visiting during high season when the 'snowbirds' from up north flock to the areas you want to visit. March/April brings spring break when high school and college students also flood particular areas.
You may be lucky and find something for less than $50/night but you probably wouldn't want to stay there, especially in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Florida is cheaper when it's hot up here and even hotter down there. Once the cold weather sets in and snows flies up here - people head south to vacation and/or spend the winter.
Deals can be found but it will take quite a bit of searching to find them. Except for Orlando and Tampa, you are looking at 'beach towns' which are big draws for those wanting sun and sand. Orlando is Mickey World and will be jam-packed with visitors. You may have your cheapest deals around Tampa. The surfers like the Cocoa Beach area. Even if you don't surf, check out the Ron Jon Surf shop there. It's amazing. (They have other stores in other places but CB's is the original and covers 2 acres.)
Enjoy your travels!
Ditto above.
You're going to very popular, standard destinations that are flooded with tourists - and you're traveling in high season.
With very few exceptions you're not going to find deals under those circumstances.
Good luck.
Cheers,
Terry
Thanks guys
Im coming from Australia.
No packages or anything like that just on a world trip. we are going to hire a car.
Ill just keep searching for some cheap rooms. hotelz.com is a great website so i guess ill just have to search for the best deals through them!
Ive found a 25$ one in Orlando!
Maybe sleeping in the car is an option!! hehe
Cheerz again, for some reason I thought America would be full of motels! like the movies!!! obviously not !
America is full of motels and lots of inexpensive accommodation options - but as stated above you're going to tourist-clogged destinations at the height of the busiest season.
Cheers,
Terry
