Hi, I'm already preparing for a tramping/pilgrimage trip through Asia. I hope to start this journey in 2013.
So far, I've planned a route from The Netherlands to Mongolia and I will travel down to India through Nepal and hopefully, Tibet.
I have roots and family in Indonesia and I have an affinity with martial arts practiced in Thailand and Indonesia.
Anything is possible but some things are very unlikely.
The cargo ships you postulate are few and far between and generally don't take passengers-those that do are rather expensive.
Randy
Do you mean crossing by ferry?
If you'd like to do that to get into Indonesia, perhaps you should go from Phuket to Kuala Lumpur then take a ferry via Riau island (eastern part of Sumatra island) or somehow to Penang then the ferry to Medan in northern part of Sumatra island.
It would be advisable to have Indonesia visa before you decides to enter one of those ports.
Unless you can find legitimate information that says Indonesia VoA is available for your nationality and in such borders mentioned before.
Have a nice journey.
Cheers.
Keep it simple and fly.
Well, from Kolkata - India , you can get a ship to Thailand. But it is much cheaper and easier by Air
Hi Randy,.. you too can come to indonesia through Singapore.. and then you will arrive at Batam island ..
