hartbreaker has indicated that this thread is about Belgium
Hi,
Am also looking to go to tomorrowland 2012 in belgium. I wasn't going to fly but i was planning on getting a ferry across from Hull to Zeebrugge then another train from Zeebrugge to Boom. I am still in the early stage of planning but this festival looks amazing and i do not want to miss out! i have been to the creamfields festival for the past 3years and that is the best dance festival in the UK!
do u know if tomorrowland is a camping festival? Any advise would be appreciated.
Hartbreaker have you checked to see how much flights would be from Newcastle to Brussels ?
sarah???? hartbreaker!
me and the donks have been looking into this cos we fancy it for my 30th
there are loads of options so bare with me
1. fly newcastle to antwerp, then use public transport to festival it's only about 20km away (can get flights for about 130 quid if you book now)
2. drive to folkstone and get the euro tunnel to calias (sp) then drive to boom, it's not as far as you think (this will involve some one driving back from down south on a massive come down)
3. you can also fly to brussels fairly cheap but it's a bit further to travel to festival
4. this is our choice at the moment. get the boat from newcastle to amsterdam, get smashed on the boat, stay one night in amsterdam then drive to boom next morning. (it's about 150km) it's not cheapest option and you'll need 2 extra days of work for travel but it's the best craic. also means you can sleep on the boat on the way back.
Sj, I have priced flights and they are about £125 from Newcastle, but you can only fly to Brussels not Antwerp and Chris is right, it's about 20km away. Then according to a few other forums you can get an unlimited rail card to get from the airport to Boom itself for around 25 Euro's for 5 days. I have found a few companies who do the package deals which includes transfers, 4 star hotel stay and tickets to the festival. I think the camping would be all part of the fun and games though! There is a facebook page for the festival which is really helpful as well as most of the people on there have been and are quite clued up. Not many of them from the UK though! That's how I ended up jumping on here. I think the easiest thing is to fly and then battle the public transport when your there!?

ha fuck driving anywhere after blasting for 3days! probably wouldn't drive for the next few days. lol think travelling by boat seems good then head over to Amsterdam for a day or two.
looking to go to snowbombing in Austria in April that should be mental as well!
well best start saving now!!!
Peace
Sam John
I have more chance of getting lost if I have been drinking on a boat for 2/3 days and trying to navigate my way from Amsterdam to Belgium. I have just been informed that Belgium is NOT Germany so I think I will make someone else in charge of maps and just follow!! Hahaha! Clearly geography is not one of my strong points! I can't say I even know what Snowbombing is though?!

Think me and a couple of mates are driving down from Newcastle or Leeds, according to Google Maps its only a 9 hour drive from Newcastle and 8 from Leeds including the Channel tunnel so maybe add a few hours from stocking up on drink in Calais, looks like a fairly straightfoward journey. Maybe a couple nights in somewhere quiet like Bruges on the way back cos theres no way ill be in a fit state to drive home Monday morning.
How much do you reckon that is going to cost you Matthew? Sounds like a good idea as long as I'm not one of the designated drivers! Do they drive on the same side as us? I think we probably going to do the ferry thing but maybe just one way and get a direct flight back. Nothing worse than being on a boat with "the fear" haha!
