North or South Vietnam??

Hi there,

I thought the North was more interesting and had more places to see. Hanoi is one of my favourite cities in Asia, Halong Bay is beautiful, and Hue is an interesting place to stop for a couple of days. From there you can go to Hoi An which is lovely. I wasn't nearly as keen on HCMC, although the Cu Chi tunnels are a brilliant day trip from there, and Nha Trang wasn't anything special. So I'd recommend flying into Hanoi but I know others have preferred HCMC.

When are you planning on going?

I too like bex76 preferred the north (although the south is also awesome, Vietnam as a whole stands head and shoulders above the rest of SE Asia for me) but we're fast approaching and into their "winter" time - Saigon is currently about 15-20 degrees hotter than Hanoi, you should consider this if you're looking to hang out on the beach (incidentally there are two really good beaches just outside of Hoi An that I found, one if cyclable, you can join the mass exodus there everyday and the other is in front of Marble Mountain in Da Nang, you may want to take a moped there!)

Where ever you choose in Vietnam is bound to impress you though!

Enjoy....

Hi bridgy1983!
You're planing your holiday in which period of time? Because the weather is different between The South and the North in each month. So I want to to know that to give you the exact advise for traveling to vietnam. With your mentions I see that both of South and North are interesting to you discover. With 3 weeks you can experience with all kind of cultures, food, the longness of history and spectacular of beaches through Vietnam. If you need any information about booking transportation, landtour,... for you trip in Vietnam, I'm willing to help you. Have a good holiday!

Hoi An and Da Nang are in Central Vietnam, and those beaches are Cua Dai Beach and An Bang Beach. You can also visit China Beach, in DaNang, but that is more of an Asian tourist market. Both are nice cites.

Hey guys,

I am planning on visiting Vietnam at the beginning of November, we have roughly 2-3 weeks to travel around.

It is £200 cheaper for us to fly into Ho Chi Minh City than flying into Hanoi Noi from the UK....

We are just trying to get a rough idea of where we want to go in that time....we would prefer to fly into Hanoi Noi and spend our time in the North. If anybody can suggest anything different then I would appreciate any comments.
