Another valuables query i'm afraid- but i've been getting very mixed responses to my question so thought i'd post it.
if you insist on taking noise canceling headphones, you might try taking a cheaper pair. Sony makes a very good one for about $30 US which you won;t feel as bad about if you lose.
got the bose ones and they are great for long haul flights, but i have sony in ear noise reducing ones also that are a bit more discrete.
if your doing a long trip remember you want to travel as light as you can, so if you can do without taking two sets it's the way to go.
As for the theft, you shouldn't be wearing them in areas where your not aware of your surroundings. 1st rule of not being mugged, be aware of whats going on around you, and that includes being able to hear whats going on around you when walking about.
