I just want some advise really from
an older traveller.
Hi Jo,
I'm getting "older" as well( although haven't hit the big three zero yet ) and so far haven't had any problems with meeting people in Australia. I don't think I've been asked how old I am by other younger travellers, only by grey nomads who are usually impressed by someone travelling "so young".
I don't think age really matters much as long as you're friendly and willing to have a good time.
You'll need an RSA for serving alcohol, but you can probably pick up cafe work without any qualifications.

Thanks for ur reply.
Just worried about feeling a bit isolated with all the young uns on gap year!!
You'll be fine and wonder when its all done what you were worried about . Get your RSA for sure if you can - will likely be useful.
You will have no problem at all. I live in Melbourne and there are lots of travellers around your age range – hardly old at all!
- LOL* I'm a decade plus older than you. It's no problems at all!
Hey dont worry about it!!..I am 31 now and get to OZ on the 22nd April. I am in the same situation as u. This is the last chance to go on a whv so thought why not! No commitments here!.. Can not wait to get there! Im sure finding a job and travelling will be fine :-)

Hey Jo good luck with it all... Im also arriving in OZ in November, i'll be 27 then. Cannot wait. There is going to be so many people in the same boat as us, you are going to love it! I have heard Australia is really easy to make friends
@hotdogfox
where are you flying into?
Maybe we could meet up ?
Would be nice to know someone there!
Jo
P.s Q re Visa - the date you specify as entering Oz - do you have to stick to that date?
thanks
Hi Jo
I am flying to Melbourne from Kuala Lumpur on November 14 ( going to Thailand and Malaysia for 10 weeks prior to OZ ) but I think I will be catching an internal flight from Melbourne to Sydney on the same day as its only an extra $79...
I am going to spend 3 days with the Work and Travel Company, main reason is because they seem to be focussed on finding jobs for people (did consider OZIntro and BUNAC but this won it for me) plus they have sent me some good info. heres the website - http://www.worktravelcompany.com/
No problem if you want to meet up over there !!
