Cute little town in Spain?

NinjaSmurf has indicated that this thread is about Spain

Hi,

After reading your question, the first name that came to my mind was Cadaqués. It is a coast town near the French border. In the summer it is crowded with tourists but I guess it is much quieter now.

Hope you like it!

Hi!
idea for few days saty is Barcelonetta, near to Barcelona, not too crowded, easy acess from Barcelona and you can visit Barcelona on evenings if bored.
Othrewise and cheaper is near of Santiago-nord west of Spain on the atlantic coast, but must flight via Madrid or Barcelona.
Have a nice stay .

There are hundreds, indeed thousands. It depends very much on which part of Spain you want to go to. And what exactly you mean by a "cute little town". It's a big country.

Two villages that spring to mind are Gaucín (a little way inland from Estepona) and Guadalest (just inland from the notorious Benidorm). -snip-

Post again if you need more information on these or other places.

Hi!

I know you are looking for a cute little town to relax for a few days, why not visit Barcelona?
In this city you get it all; if you want to relax you should go to a quiet area at one of the beaches of Barcelona. (As you mention you like being near the coast)

The several parcs Barcelona has to offer might interest you as well. Think about Parc de la Ciutadella, it´s located at the Arc de Triomf and it´s beautiful! Great place to have a picknick, a boat trip or looking to some fantastic buildings. The Zoo is also situated here.

Another place you might like is Montjuïc, here you are able to see one of greatest views over the city and enjoy the botanical gardens. It´s really breathtaking over there!

And, when you are tired of relaxing and quiet, peacefull places... Barcelona has so much to offer! Whatever you are looking for, the Catalan Capital has got it all!!

Good luck with your trip to Spain, and if you have any questions, don´t hestitate to ask me!

OHCarlos,

I'm sorry that you think those links were a promo. I thought they were just useful information about two places that fit the OP's question.

There are loads of interesting small villages all over Spain.

Since you haven't specified an area here are a few that I've visited in different areas:

Alarcón (near Valencia)
Albarracin (Near Cuenca)
Besalú (near Girona)
Santillana del Mar (Near Santander)

Hi!

I don't know whether you'll be heading this far west but Camarinas in the province of Galicia in the far northwest of the country was a favourite of mine - about as far as you can get from the costa del towerblocks and close to some stunning coastal scenery. The main city of that region - Santiago de Compostela - isn't bad either if you want somewhere bigger.

Have a good trip

Pete

Toldeo - south of Madrid is really quiet little town on a huge hill. Worth you time to go if you like medieval history.

Segovia - north of Madrid is also very quiet and has the aqueducts, and Ferdinand and Isabella's castle, and the roast up some excellent pork!!! it is quiet small you can see the whole town in a few hours.

Galicia is my home!!! Well my family's. A Carouna (with a tilde over the n) is awesome.. there are some cliffs by the waters edge you can visit. And Mera is the best little town nearby, right on the bay! OMG I love it!! Notorious for the BEST hands down seafood in Spain. Sorry Barcelona, you get your seafood from Galicia.

Also Santiago de Compostela is a beautiful church lined with gold. Really worth a trip if you decide to head that way.

Thank you so much for your ideas everyone!!!
