was thinking of spending new year in sydney then just going with the flow from there really i want to go to thailand and newzealand aswel x

Sydney is really nice place to spend holidays...
Looks like you haven't made your mind yet for which place to travel. Personally I would suggest you to travel Thailand because November is an ideal time to travel there as it is not very hot and does not rain much.
