Hi Timea,
If you're thinking of volunteering I'd suggest thinking carefully about what you want to get out of it. There are so many organisations out there offering trips that it's worth thinking about as some offer fully supported placements, while with others you are more independent.
There are a number of websites out there offering advice on what volunteer organisations should offer both you and the local communities. It's not just a matter of cost to you, badly managed projects can also cost the local community a lot in terms of trust & misspent funds.
