I'm arriving in Melbourne on the 1st Oct and have a similar plan in mind. I'm staying at the Coffee Palace International Backpackers hostel for the first 4 nights. I don't want to stay in a hostel for too long so would be looking for a shared apartment/house. I would be looking to stay and work for the first 3 months and then move onto Sydney for Xmas and NY. Wouldn't mind trying to find a fruit picking/farm hand job whilst in Victoria and maybe staying in working hostel.

I'll be staying in an hostel for the first 4 nights.
During this period i should look for a shared apartment.
Besides that, i'd like to find a work at least for the first 3 months. Each kind of work would be great.
I've heard fruit picking/farm hand job is an easy way to get a job quickly.
So guys, it looks like we kind have the same plan?
did you already get the working holiday visa??
