Depends on how much i have?
From my own knowledge and savings I have budgeted for around £800-£1000 a month for 4-6 months in SEA. Then onto Australia.
I want to stretch my money out as much as possible so wondering if £800 for a month to be able to enjoy myself and see the sights etc etc is enough??
Thanks
Rich tourists and poor tourists alike go on holidays in Asia. There is no one budget for everyone.
You have to work out how much per day you feel comfortable for spending (not including airfare) and plan your holiday around that daily amount. For most tourists their hotel rooms consumes a good part of their daily allocation unless they drink a lot of alcohol in expensive nightclubs or choose expensive restaurants for meals.
If it is any help, millions of backpackers in Thailand who choose cheap sleeping accommodations (even less than £10 per night) manage to survive. Even survive eating in cheap places too.
"'I'm shooting off to Asia in November, starting in Thailand..."
Not all countries in Asia are equal for budget planning. Depends on where you go. Singapore, Hong Kong, and especially Japan and Korea will cost more. Australia isn't that cheap either compared to Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.
