So basically I land in Melbourne on the 2nd of November but really wouldn't mind being in Sydney for NYE for the fireworks, as I've got not solid plans and really don't want to have a time scale on my travelling, do i wing it and hope to get a hostel a lot nearer the time or do i book it now and avoid disappointment and make sure I've got a roof over my head??? Whats everyones plans/thinking as obviously Sydney's going to be backed out over the season....
I'd recommend booking somewhere as soon as possible - Sydney gets very busy during this time. I booked in July when I went over Christmas and New year and many places were already full even then. Also bear in mind that many hostels stipulate a minimum stay of several nights over that period.
