Trip feedback? Scandinavia Break

amandajc09 has indicated that this thread is about Norway

Hi there! I have to admit to not having climbed it myself yet, but I thought I'd check it out a little bit. I found the following info, which I'm translating via G Translate here:

From May - mid September and weekends in April and late September is the bus service several times a day from Tau to Preikestolhytta. The bus corresponds with ferry departures from Fiskepirterminalen in Stavanger. The rest of the year, the bus stops at jørpeland 9 km from the Pulpit Rock lodge. Further transport is by taxi.
It is a 2 hour hike on a marked trail to Preikestolen.

By car: Drive to Lauvvik Wireless (Route 13) and take the ferry to Oanes and continue on Route 13 to Jøssang and follow signs to the pulpit. This is the finest way. One can also take the ferry to Tau and driving on Highway 13 through jørpeland. Parking fee kr. 100

It is possible to hike in the winter when there is little snow! But the trail can be slippery, so one must be prepared to turn before you reach the top.

Remember warm clothes, good footwear (hiking boots) and lunch!

The translation is pretty good and I think clear. It looks like it basically is possible in October (pending snow or slipperiness stopping the ascent), but getting there is not quite as easy. It is however possible. Otherwise I think your trip outline for Norway looks pretty good actually. Am I reading it right that there is basically no time in Bergen?

Thanks for finding that! Yes, I will be in-and-out of Bergen, just because I don't have the time to do it all unfortunately, but I consider the Bergen railway a must!

I lived in Norway and only thing I can say is that Norway is one of the most expensive countries in Scandinavia but people are rather friendly and speak good English.

I am really amazed to see the result of G Translate, as it never gives a meaning full translation of such lengthy text.
