Kinda similar to me! And I have no adventurous friends either... I fly out on 6th October to Cairns then travelling down the coast to Sydney for xmas and new year. Want to work then look to rent next year sometime! I read quite a few people are in Sydney for xmas and new year but if you're looking to stay I would book the hostel quick coz theyre going fast

Finally finished my job now so I'm a free manshould probably start preparing for this life changing trip lol.i have no time frame of how long I will be staying in Melbourne as that is where my only friend is.im looking to get my 3 months farm work out the way pretty much as soon as I can.then after that travel!.if anyone is doing the same kinda thing let me know.
Hey! I'll be arriving in Melbourne on 13th September but not sure how long for either. If you are going to do farm work, some regional postcodes don't count towards your 2nd year visa - I have only just been informed of this so just something to be aware of if you didn't already know!

You can under Visa applicants > Regional areas.
Likewise I recommend checking the full range of work options under Visa applicants > Specified work.
To the OP: you'll have a fantastic time! Do a bit of prep, be prepared to hunt for a job immediately and otherwise, just go with it, you'll meet some amazing people along the way.

I've just got back from Aus after 9 months and it was amazing! I'm due to fly back out to Melbourne the 3rd week in August where I'll be staying for around 5-6 months! And the moving on to travel the whole East Coast! If you've got any questions I'd be glad to help or if you want to catch up for a beer let me know!

Hi Ben,Sounds like your the man to talk to about OZ! Not sure how long ill be in Melbourne but i do know i will want to do some travelling at some point ,Especially the East coast then maybe end up back in Melbourne after the farm work.Ill be taking it day by day!
If you're looking for farm work let me know. I know an awesome farm 20 mins from Byron Bay.. It is wwoofing though.
Best way to do it! Get yourself to the Gold Coast, it's like Magaluf.. But not a dump! If you've got any questions more than happy to help! You won't regret making the decision to go! And if you decide on staying in Melbourne for a while let me know!
