Yeah, having bookings increase to a reasonable level would be far the best way of bringing in more development. We've always been self funded and this has been primarily through bookings. As much as other sources (ie ads) can help a little, they are not really enough to amount to a lot without a huge increase in traffic.
Doesn't mean nothing will get done though! I'm still quite happy to have suggestions for improvements. Not all changes require a lot of work either.
Might be worth it to do another review drive, to get more unique content on the accommodation pages, particularly with the newly added hotels? I personally still have "go through old hotel bookings to see which ones are listed now, and leave a review for them" on my mental todo list. With a couple of dozen regulars each leaving half a dozen accommodation reviews, that might make a bit of a dent...
I have some suggestions for the 'Planner' ... ... ...
Under 'Search Transport options', add another item for ' Search Accommodation'. It should bring you to a page of bookable places for that location & date.
Maybe add a 'Planning profile' to the 'Pre-Planning' section where you could add your travel style so the accommodation would pre-chosen for 'Hotel' , 'Hostel' & budget type.
Or that could be in the 'Preferences' section too although that feels more like a 'Global' thing whereas a 'profile' could be per trip.
Earlier Peter was asking for suggestions about something to give people price / budgeting suggestions. That would fit into this are too & the profile idea might help with that.
