There's an overnight bus from BKK to Koh Lanta. There is bound to be one from Pattaya. Depends on your definition of "day". If you mean 24 hours, then yes!
Bus from Phuket to Bangkok is about 12 hours. From Bangkok, Pattaya is about 2 hours away by cheap bus. (Bus from Ekamai Bus Terminal or from Mo Chit.)
There is an airport just outside Pattaya, U-Tapao–Pattaya International Airport. It is a little bit of a pain in the butt to get from there to Pattaya City but it can be done. (Suvarnabhumi Airport, although further away, is easier because of cheap bus.)

I think you basically have 2 options.
1. Ferry to Krabi, get on the next bus to BKK. Most are overnight buses, but they do have day buses. You will arrive at Southern Bus Station. You will have to get to Eastern or Ekamai bus station for the bus ride to Pattaya.
2. Ferry to Phuket. Fly BKK Airways: HKT-UTP. Van to Pattaya. I saw fares at roughly $100 one way. Good luck.
