Hi everyone!
I looked up TFN online and it says you can't do it until you are in Oz, is the case and also Medicare is this something I need to apply for when I am there?
Yes and yes. Check the link in .
British citizens are eligible for Medicare under a . I recall being advised in a Medicare office that all Brits had to do was take their NHS card in.
There's not a lot else to get set up before you go really, unless you have things to take care on the home front like bills, mail, etc.
You'll be fine

Hey Kellie,
What you mentioned above, is that instead of insurance, or would you need insurance as well as what is stated above?
Cheers,
Foxy
Thanks Kellie that is great.
Foxy I do think you still have to take out insurance my friends have said to look at Outbackers I haven't looked into that yet.

Well travel insurance covers you for other things too, like transport delays, lost/damaged gear (these are all situations I've had to claim on) so I do still think it's a good idea to get insurance. The reciprocal arrangement is just peace of mind that you can have * some * free/discounted health care because our countries are buddies like that
