Thank you,

While you are waiting for some recommendations - go to the search function at the top right hand corner, type in 'Goa' and select 'Accommodation' from the drop down. Click the search button,
The results sometimes have comments & the ones that have a little silhouette of a profile are TP members, so they could actually be genuine. If you click beside the silhouette you go to the members profile & you could then message that person if you wanted some more info.
Sorry if you are already aware of that but it is new to me.
The 'Map' view button at the bottom left might also be useful to see what is by the sea
Happy travels
Steve
Thanks Steve! Was not aware of this function )
You're welcome -
While I was looking at answering your question, I also saw TP Accommodation has something called 'TRUSTED REVIEW' where the reviewer is a TP member & also booked the accommodation through TP. That sounds like it could be a very good source of info, but it is not too easy to find. I did post a suggestion about it on System Talk.

A few years ago after touring northern India we had a great week on Palolem Beach, staying at the Nest. The accommodation was basic but right on the beach with a reasonable restaurant. There are lots of stalls, restaurants and rooms there. It's where the opening scene from The Bourne Supremacy was filmed.
Palolem Beach in the south is nice, so is Arambol in the north. I probably prefer Arambol as there was a bit more to do and it was easier to get to some of the other beach villages to the south and closer to Old Goa town with its historic Dutch and Portuguese churches. Its a relatively small state and quite easy to get around, so no reason you cant do both depending on how much time you have. Arambol had more of the old Portuguese style houses, but Palolem was maybe a bit quieter. I'd check out guest houses on Tripadvisor and then go see them in person when you get there. You can get a better deal that way too. There are great restaurants at both places. They set up on the beach every evening and you just walk down the beach looking at what they have caught and then they cook it up for you. Have fun!
Holidays in Goa would be delighting experience for you. If you want to stay there are so many good hotels where you can stay and enjoy your holiday in goa.
im also planning a trip to goa as back packer would love to join you
