Im trying to sort out my visa to go to australia at the start of feb!
I just wanted to know is the whole application online? As in once you have paid thats it?
Also do you need a certain amount of money in order to apply for one?
Im planning on getting the 12 month visa with 6 month working permit!
Also with regards to flights, is it best to do it online? If so whats the best company to do it with?

You mean a ? (Or if you're from the USA, a ? (Stating your nationality is always useful when asking visa questions...)) Yes, the application for that is entirely online (definitely apply via that website, the official website of the Australian Department of Immigration - everywhere else is a third party). You fill in the form, you pay, you'll get an email confirmation (generally within a couple of hours, though during busy times it can take several days, up to a theoretical week) and that's it.
One of the requirements of the visa is that you have access to sufficient funds to support yourself, which is generally defined as AUD $5000. You're extremely unlikely yo have to prove that you have access to that much money, but it's there for your own protection, and should be seen as an absolute minimum. An average backpacker will spend that much money in two months of travelling around, so even if you start looking for work straight away, it'd be good to have access to more, since generally it takes a while to find work, and then even longer for your first paycheck to come in...
