You do not say what age he is. Under the age of seven/eight children pick up a language easily by mixing. You do not say where in Spain, i.e. will this be in an English ex-pat speaking community where it may be unnecessary if there are English speaking schools and you wish to send him to one.

i would suggest yes,
learning Spanish would help you in blend in, they would be able to understand you easily, moreover if you will conversate in Spanish with them you would sound familiar as well as easy to bond to them.
taking classes online could help you in learning this language easily
