Trip to VC

Myself and my family want to visit the Vatican city this July. The plan is to get to Rome using Rome Ciampino Airport. But the question is, "should we take a bus straight up to VC or hire a car". I'm travelling with my wife and two little boys.

Hi,
Do not hire a car to go to Rome. It won't be helpful once you are into the city. You will have some difficulties to park.
You can go easily from Fiumicino airport to the town by train. Or take a taxi if you have to carry a lot of stuff for your family.
Try to get an hotel into the center and then use the public transportation. Vatican is a small enclave. I remember I went there crossing the river Tiber by foot in front of the Sant Angelo Castel.
Enjoy

The airport also has a Web site. It might be worthwhile to pay the 30 euros or so to transport the family to your hotel, especially if the children are very young. Then take public transportation to Vatican City.

If you're visiting the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, avoid the morning crowds and go shortly after lunch. There won't be as many people. This was from an experienced tour guide that I know; and it's good advice. The ticket office is open from 9 to 4; and the museums close at 6 p.m.

I see your point now. Thanks so much! My wife had earlier booked a car with carrentalsmarket app but I think am gonna just cancel it now.
