arr has indicated that this thread is about Visas (Thailand)

Best place to be for Chirstmas/New Years in my opinion is Koh Phangnan. Huge beach parties on both Xmas eve and New years eve. Great atmosphere. I would stay on one of the quieter beaches so you can escape the madness of Haad Rin (the party beach) during the day. There is a lovely bungalow place called Coral Bay on Haad Khom Beach. An Israelli woman married to a Thai runs the place and she is really friendly. A lot of long-termers hang around there and it's a good place to meet people. Also you should hire a moped as it's the best way tour around the island.

It's easy to get to Cambodia from Thailand just ask others when you arrive- Cambodia is amazing and well worth the effort.

Hope this helps

Three months is long time. If you fly into Thailand with UK passport you will get 30 days free entry. When you leave Thailand that entry permit ends and on return you will get another 30 days free if flying in or 15 days if entering by land.

There are other visas for Thailand you ought to also investigate. For Cambodia you also require visas that you pay for. There is a ferry boat ride you can use to get from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap where Angkor Wat is located.

For Thailand wait until you get to Thailand to change any UK pounds over to Thai baht for the best rate. US currency is also accepted as a de facto currency in Vietnam and Cambodia but you will also need some of their local currency for cheap purchases. Don't leave Cambodia and Vietnam with their currency because it is difficult to unload it in other countries.

A simple Google check will also give you some of the information on "how to get from "here?" to "here?"

Koh Phangan is more okay if you are a kid who may also have an interest in doing lots of dope while getting completely drunk with other kids while "gazing at the moon!" There are a few hoops to jump through just to get there.

Good luck.

Enjoy full moon party on that time or it depends on you if you like city moment or the moment of chilling around and get drunk under the full moon like the comment above or any others places. Try checking the events in Thailand on the internet you will get tons of information about that.

Enjoy!

After Bangkok, you should visit Pattaya as well.

After Bangkok, you should visit Pattaya as well.

If you are an adult, without family or wife or girlfriend and it was me I would go for Pattaya for the holidays. Why - cheaper for one reason! Easy to get to from Bangkok by bus, price around 115 baht for 2 hour ride from Ekamai. Hotels cheaper than Bangkok and cheaper than Phuket. Local transportation only 10 baht per ride on baht buses. Beach is crap for swimming but okay for sunbathing, jogging, restaurants, malls, nightlife and street vendors. Many hotels have pools. Swim at nearby Koh Larn Island or Jomtien or off of Naklua.

December is high season for hotel prices. Highest prices around Christmas - New Years holidays. Many hotels impose a "party fee" on the tenants for Christmas and New Years Eve festivities. Some don't!

Under 21 years old Koh Phangan might be appealing if you can find enough girls there to make the party worthwhile. More teenage boys/young men than girls go there.

Up to you.

Thailand: Bangkok, Pattaya + Laos: Luang Prabang + Cambodia: Siem Reap with Angkor Wat + Vietnam: Halong Bay, Hoi An are my favorite places I have been. Don't miss any of them! Enjoy the trip!
