Hi there,
USA, plan what you want to see as you could spend a year there and still miss a lot.
What are you going to do in Belize? The town is a dump and the islands are the same as any similar islands. I would spend little time there. Possibly you might pop into Guatemala, to Flores, etc? I would cut Costa Rica down to 1 to 2 weeks.
Peru has a lot to see so I would spend a good part of the 7 weeks there.
Australia is BIG. You are not going to see much in 4 weeks there so maybe some more time or plan it better?
You might drop in on Indonesia, Bali, Hong Kong or Singapore on your way to Thailand.
But that is just me and you might have different imperatives.
I would definitely shorten on the central american part. I would join Cyberia - you can even skip Belize and spend may just two max three weeks in costa rica and bocas del toro/ san blas islands in panama.
Peru - Argentina - Brazil - in 7 weeks?? - make it longer!!!! I would rather concentrate on one country or region and try to extend my stay there.
Thailand/Laos - 6 weeks will be long enough.
Have a nice trip!
Pardon my ignorance, but what is Cyberia? I have tried googling it, but to avail.
The main reason I want to go to Belize is to do some diving/snorkelling in the Blue Hole...even though I've never dived before. But I have read it is an experience. However, as this will be during the wet season, would I still get the same experience?
As for spending only 7 weeks in South America, I merely see Argentina as a stop for a week or so on my way to Brazil.
What are the 'must see's' in the countries I name above?

Cyberia is the nickname of poster who first responded to your thread; so when kichikacha wrote "I would join Cyberia", that was merely an expression of agreement about spending less to no time in Belize.
On a personal note, I'd strongly recommend looking at Argentina in its own right; hop south to Patagonia; you'll be there at the perfect time of year to best experience the gorgeous nature there. (As opposed to Peru, where they'll be going into the wet season.)
I have been looking quite religiously at the South America aspect of the trip, and Jericoacoara, in Northern Brazil keeps jumping out at me. In particular it seems like somewhere that would be a great place to spend Christmas and New Year.
Would anyone have any information, from experience, about this place?
i have a one way flight booked to mexico city on the 8th october, gonna travel down through it and central america towards south america on roughly the same sort of timeline. send me a message with whatever details you need
I'm also doing an around the world soon too and have mapped it .
June – US and Canada
July – UK
August – Europe
September – Europe/Asia
October – Asia
Keen to follow along the suggestions...

In regards to Jericoacoara, I would definitely recommend! You should know though that Christmas/New Years is considered high season and prices for accommodations go way up. You should book a place now if you plan to go. If you need a recos, let me know. ENJOY!!!
