Planning for 3 months in Europe.

Hello everyone,

I think it probably is a bit much - you would spend an awful lot of time travelling if you wanted to see all these countries in 92 days. Ideally you would spend 2-3 weeks in any given country as a minimum, if you want to see it in any depth at all.

Maybe concentrate on either Southern Europe (Spain-France-Italy perhaps?), or Central Europe (France-Switzerland-Germany-Czech Republic?), or Northern Europe/Scandinavia (Germany-Netherlands-Sweden-Finland), plus the UK?

Bear in mind that it will be Autumn then Winter so you stand a better chance of getting some reasonable weather if you go for the Southern options.

Thanks for the reply!

You make some very good points. We are currently trying to cull some of the countries off our list... However we aren't doing a very good job. Mainly because we only have interests in certain cities not the entire country. (e.g We were only planing to visit Barcelona, Valencia and Almeria in Spain.) Is that a poor plan?

Are there any particular places that you would recommend or would be a must see for first time travelers? And, on that same note are there any places that are overrated or not worth seeing?

I agree with this. I think it's a bit much. It looks like your time would just be about traveling and not much on exploring. Try looking for the best ones - for example I always loved museums and all, so I'll go to the place where there are a lot of known museums. It depends on what you like. But just pick out the place that interests you the most.

If you go to Czech Republic you should visit Poland too. This is such a nice country. I invite you to Krakow (I could show you some special places). However, I don't think you have enough time to visit all these places... If you need any help about Poland and Krakow please let me know!

Hey hi..I think your list is too long, instead of enjoying your travel, you will be more worried about it! You can think of cutting down some places which you are not too keen to visit. Make up your mind to stay in a place for four to five at least by which you can visit nearby places too. Choose the central location to be accessible from all places. When i received a letter from American airways I was thrilled and planned to visit England's castles and listed many castles from which i could manage to see only a few!!! That was very sad, Don't let this happen to you. Enjoy your trip!!

For help in cutting down your list, I would take off the Scandinavian countries and Greece given the location and season you will be traveling. The Greek islands mostly shut down in the winter, which is one of the main reasons to go to Greece. As far as Scandinavia is concerned, it can be quite frigid there in the winter months, and while it still can be quite beautiful, it may be a factor you want to consider when narrowing your choices

Thanks everyone for all the advice! I'll be back with more questions once we've narrowed it down. ;-D
