I am Lauren, 21 from Stoke On Trent, England! I am moving to Sydney for the year to be a nanny!! I am going alone and would love to hear from anybody who is heading out around the same time?!

There are heaps of great things to see in Australia, while you're staying in Sydney take some time to explore the area, depending on the time of year you can check out the beaches, cafes and harbour. The Blue Mountains are also well worth visiting even for just a day, you can take a train up to Katoomba or Wentworth Falls. Will you be travelling after working?

Our budget airlines are generally Jetstar and Virgin Blue, but sometimes Qantas has better specials than both so it's worth checking all 3 web sites. If you have time you could just travel the east coast, that's what most people tend to do!
hey lauren im 21 also from sunderland, i travel around about the 18th of july but only can stay for five weeks. im starting off in sydney then hoping someone will point me in the right direction from there! never travelled before and never alone so theres hope for me yet as lots of people have said to be travelling alone.
would be great to hear from you if youll be in sydney around about the 18th of july. ill be heading up the east coast and hopefully tagging along with some unfortunates lol x
skyscanner.net is a good site for looking up cheap flights. You type in where you want to go then they basically check every airline and booking agent and tell you the cheapest flight.
Hey Lauren im 21 from Derry (Ireland) and i got a 12month visa think im gonna go in January on my lonesome as all my mates cant give up full time work or uni at the min im soooo nervous as ive never done anything like this before but really want the experience... So would be great to know someone who is going through the same thing x

Sounds like fun!! The more you look into travelling you realise how many people go on their own so I am sure you are going meet heaps of people!! I am going to Thailand 2 weeks today for a week before flying out to Sydney, so its very soon!!! It will be good to keep in touch and then I could let you know stuff to do in Sydney!!

You are going to have such a good time, my friend is over there already and coming to the end of her year and she doesnt want to come back!! Are you planning on travelling the country?? My job will be in Sydney for the year so I will be doing my travelling at weekends!! It's going to be boiling when you go over!! It flies as well, I booked my flights 3 months ago and I have 2 weeks left...Its not really sank in yet, doubt it will till I'm on the plane!!

yeah my sister is over there the past two years so hopefully she gets me a job :D shes in Newman so i might start off there but you can only be with the same employer for 6months so ill have to move on ill prob go to Sydney then :D... sooo nervous though :D but seeing this i dont feel as bad cause there is loads off people doing it on their own too!
