Need help and advice on travelling to Switzerland

Hi,

I don't know if it is the best time to visit with Christmas holidays and all that stuff. I think paragliding is available. You can just google it. I recommend Interlaken as a base. It is virtually in the center of the country and is close to places like Lucerne.

I was going to suggest that you'd stay in Bern, but Interlaken seems to be a great option if you want to stay close to the nature.

In one week you can easily visit:
the region around Interlaken that includes the lake and the Jungfrau
Luzern and its lake region
Zermatt and the Matterhorn
Bern
Zurich
Geneva

Both renting a car and travelling by train are expensive options in Switzerland. The exception on what concerns the train is if you buy special tickets in advance from the website . These tickets are called "billets dégriffés" and you can save up to 60% of the price of a normal ticket. It would be the best option, although you can only book them from less than 14 days in advance.

December is usually a great time of the year to visit Switzerland if you're interested in skiing and snowboarding (although this year hasn't snowed yet). As for paragliding you should easily find some place to do it, as long as the weather situation allows it.
