I used to work in a bank in Sydney (I am an Aussie), and we used to employ many 'backpackers' on WHV for 3 month contracts. In fact, I met my husband while he was on a WHV doing a 3 month contract at my bank - he now has permanent residency, but is not yet a citizen!!!
