We booked our flights today to KL and have 3 weeks to explore anywhere that flys out of and around KL.
RE: Malaysia - I know that off the east coast of peninsular malaysia, monsoon starts to roll in around oct/nov. Lasts until feb/mar. If you like surfing, you could check it out.
