Hi,
The website http://www.cnvol.com/ has comprehensive train timetables for China. For that trip you could be looking at two trains totalling about 24 hours.
For example:
Train K9601 leaves Lijiang at 0838, arrives Kunming at 1723.
Train K166 leaves Kunming at 1848 and arrives at Emei at 1025 am the next morning.
I have no ideas about buses, sorry.
