I am trying to travel from the UK to the US to visit a friend. I have traveled to the US a couple times before, but got a DUI in the UK a couple years ago, which requires I obtain a VISA prior to traveling again. I applied for a Visa and had an interview at the US Embassy in London a few months ago. I was told that I should get a medical exam to complete the application process. I did not go through with the medical, and my application is now closed out. I want to travel to the US in a few weeks. Is my passport now flagged due to the fact I began the Visa application process? How likely am I to gain entry into the US now, and again in the future, if I travel without getting the VISA? Someday I would like to move to the US, but for now I just need to travel to visit. I don't have time now to go through the entire Visa application process, as I want to travel ASAP. Suggestions/Opinions/Comments/Stories please!

There is a on the North America forum concerning this topic. There is some good info there. I would re-post this on the NA forum. You are more likely to get informed responses.
At this point you only have one option. Use ESTA and assume the UK has not shared anything with the US so far. As stated in the above post, entry into the US is at the discretion of the Immigration officer. You have to decide if it is worth being sent home on the next flight if they deny you entry. Good luck.
