Hey all this may be a bit of a pointless post, but basically I'm a third year student and I really want to travel after I finish Uni in 2014. My 'plan' is basically once I have finished Uni to go travelling, probably after working up till Christmas to earn a bit of money (I also have savings that I can use towards travelling). Ideally I'd love to travel for around 3-6 months or perhaps longer depending on what life brings but it all feels very overwhelming and I have no idea where to even begin! I'd love to go to Australia/ New Zealand as I have friends out there and I think it would be quite a good place to introduce yourself to travelling as its not too overwhelming and there's so much to see, but I'd also love to go to less developed places and really see the world and different cultures, and go somewhere that's pretty unexpected. In terms of volunteering I'd love to work with animal conservation so if anyone has any advice on places/ how to do it, that would be really useful! I know I must sound totally naive but I feel like even trying to begin planning to travel is an overwhelming task in itself- for example would it be better to go with an organisation or by yourself where you have more flexibility ? Does anyone have any advice for a totally uncultured person who isn't particularly spontaneous but is determined to see as much of the world as they can ha? I'd love to hear peoples recommendations for travelling and how they did it- thanks!
It is so nice to visit the place you have friends on. It would be safer for you to travel to that place where your friends are living. It eases all the tension about traveling.
