Italy for 3 weeks in July

k8tiegirl has indicated that this thread is about Italy

Hi Kate
reaching croatia from east Italy (Venice) it is not so difficult, but than it depends where you want to go in croatia.

If you'd like to visit some place near Rijeka, it can be easy by car from Venice (max 3hours) but if you'd like to visit some place near Split it will be a long trip (6hours) but you will find better spot. In this case may be you can consider to take a ferryboat from Ancona in Italy.

So basically it depends on where you want to go in Italy and in Croatia.

Bye

you can reach croatian coast also by ferry, from Bari, Pescara and Ancona.
Feel free to contact me for any advise about Italy (i'm italian)

I really recommend Venice. It was by far my favourite place. Going by car is good if there are lots of things you want to see out of the way. Otherwise I would recommend Train and Bus. I went to Italy for a long trip and went by car. It was very stressful - not only the ultra fast speeds on the autobahn but map reading in the cities, finding legal places to put the car overnight ect

I would never use a car for a long trip again - it was the biggest thing I learnt from my trip. I would hire it for a day or a couple of days to see something or maybe a few towns with little or no public transport.

Verona is not far from Venice and Rome and Florence are well known as brilliant. If you want avoit the crowds then Ravenna might be good. It's on the east coast so not too far out of the way and has brilliant frescoes.

Hi Kate:
I live just south of Padua, so, happy to offer you my guided tour for free (here in Monselice, a medieval town). Practice italian language for free. Of course, your opinion on my blog is welcome. Take care.

hi Kate:

Italy is one of the most visited countries in the world. Everyone just flock to its beaches, ruins, and mountains. Some of the most visited places are Rome, Florence, Venice, Cinque Terra, Sicily, Turin, Capri, Sorrent.
