Three weeks in Canada July 2014, help!!

Hey everyone,

Hi,

While you are in Toronto, you should not miss Niagara Falls & the boat ride, The Maid of the Mist.

Fantastic..

Here is my reaction to it.

( pity you are not coming to Ottawa - but it's a sleepy town )

Steve

Thank u Steve,
Niagara falls is on my list for sightseeing in Toronto. I'll just read ur blog as well. I am so looking forward to this trip. This is to be my solo trip for the first time.
Fingers crossed.
Any other advice

Hi,

I am not up on travelling light anymore but way back, I hitch-hiiked across Canada twice. Stayed in hostels for next to nothing. One I remember was in UBC where I slept on the floor of the Gym with about a thousand other people & woke up with a screaming nightmare. One of my more embarrassing moments. Maybe there are still hostels but no one hitches any more. And being a girl on your own, please, do not do that.

Most people would probably suggest you go to Vancouver, but I liked Vancouver island. There are ferries that go there from North Vancouver to Nanaimo.
I love ferries - anywhere in the world.

If you can find someone to drive, try to go on the Kananaskis Highway from the US border at Waterton / Glacier park in Alberta, up towards Calgary.
Wilderness country.

Steve

Mav, do you realize how big Canada is? You can't base out of Toronto and visit the Rocky Mountains or British Columbia. The distance between Toronto and Vancouver is about the same as London to Cairo!

If you want to see that part of Canada then research flying into Calgary or Vancouver.

Cheers,
Terry

When you will go on Canada , You should never void the Niagara waterfalls. A couple of days in Montreal its a best place for your visiting.........Some of the best places are given below----
Calgary
Vancauver
Island
Bomff

ashlartours @ Reply #6... you're recommending destinations that are THOUSANDS of kilometres apart to someone who says they are travelling on a tight budget... that makes no sense...

Cheers,
Terry

Had to laugh about Bomff though...

Yes, and looking at his other postings it's all making sense now... haha...

Cheers,
Terry

hello all, firstly thank u so much for all the feedback (hugs)…
ok now let me ease a few queries. I do realise it a huge huge country unlike England. I have to arrive in toronto cause my friends recently moved there and i want to meet them. One of them will accompany me on my tour. A bus ride from toronto to vancouver take around 2.5 days and i am so willing to take that it is about $60. The flight on the other hand is around $400 which i am still unsure why so expensive.
When i wrote tight budge i meant i can't afford a tour worth $4000. I will choose BnB's or hostels or some places hotels worth $30-80 per night.
Places in british columbia that interests me:

1. Vancouver (caplinao bridge, grouse mountain, sea wall, stanley park),
2. vancouver island, victoria (butchart gardens, elk beaver lake ),
3. Tofino, British Columbia,
4. Garibaldi, British Columbia,
5. Whistler, British Columbia,
6. Mount Robson, British Columbia,
7. Athabasca Glacier, Alberta,
8. Yoho National Park, Field, British Columbia,
9. Lake Louise, Alberta,
10. Kamloops, British Columbia,
11. Hope, British Columbia

i don't think all these places would be possible but i wish some of them are in three weeks.

now all of u out there help me figure this out pleaseeeeeeee
