Define 'good district'?
If you want to stay on Hong Kong island I can recommend the Check Inn Hostel, it's located about 5 minutes from Wan Chai station, which is very well connected. The staff is friendly and helpful and facilities are good, and you'll be bang in the middle of a bustling street that pretty much never sleeps.
