A friend and I were meant to be going to Laos, Vietnam and Thailand in January but she has since backed out. I had my heart set on going and I've decided that I still will. I've never travelled solo before and to be honest, I'm extremely anxious and scared about it. Especially considering that I will be backpacking, something I've never done before either. I'm a very social person, independent and I don't think I will find it difficult, it's more about safety that I am concerned about!
I'm exactly the same as you hun, we should talk! Though I want to do the thai islands too. It's all so exciting and scary when its first time alone! X
I'll be over in Thailand from next month , travelling to Laos Cambodia and Vietnam , if you'd like to catch up

Any advice?! And does anyone want to be travel companions? I'm planning to go early/mid January until the end of Feb!!
Hi,
There are some tips for you during your trip in Vietnam :
1. When you come to Vietnam, it's better to follow the local way of dressing.
2. It's is necessary to pay luggage and leave your visa, your passport, your credit card in hotel and avoid bringing to much money with you when you go out (do the same thing in other country)
3. Carry the name and address of the place you are staying on local language.
4. Research as much as possible information about the country where you want to travel.
If you have more assistance, contact me and it's my pleasure to help you.

Vietnam is quite safe for solo travel backpackers. Remember to try as much street foods as possible. It's so delicious .
Solo travel in Vietnam is quite safe. If you want to have an affordable price for your trip to the North of Vietnam, you can contact me. If you're going to travel in Hanoi, in my workplace they have an English tour project - students who wanna improve their English skill will lead you to many attractions of Hanoi without paying money for them. All they wanna have are expriences. They call it "City tour". I work in there for month and really you are social person, independent so may be you don't mind to join us. I've met so many people all around the world, and many people did find travel companions in here. I would like to recommend coming to my BC Family and find some travel buddy. 'cause we have a hostel for few traveler to stay, you may find some one that you would like to travel with them. Also if you don't like a hostel, you can choose hotel as well. BC Family has it. Sometimes in weekend, we organise party like Food tour, party for member's birthday. That would be very nice if you can join and feel about us. It would be very pleasure if I have a chance to help you find travel companions or hang around with you when you're in Hanoi.
