RioCarnival / Machu picchu and the amazon jungle for 3weeks

I'm looking to do some travelling in south america and want to work it around my job so looking for 3 weeks taking in some of the amazing sights of south america.

Hi Gareth - just a point on Huayna Picchu! We did the 4-day Inca trail at the end of December 2013. Before we left for the holiday, we bought a pass to climb Huayna Picchu (they only allow 400 people up there per day; 8am and 10am or something like that). When we arrived at the Sun Gate and walked down into Machu Picchu it was sunny and fabulous. Even when we started climbing Huayna Picchu, it was still pretty good although we could see the clouds gathering. By half-way up it was too cloudy to see Machu Picchu and at the top we could only just see ten metres or so in front of us. So don't be too disappointed if you get up there and it's no good but, if it's clear, make the most of it! It's a steep and precarious climb in some places and very tiring after the 4-day trek but definitely worth the effort if it stays clear. Enjoy!
