Travel hacking

I'm new here, looking for info on travel hacking for Canadians. Seems much bigger in the US than in Canada. In the US there is boardingarea.com and they do have a Canadian section, but it is very small with only a couple of decent bloggers who seem like advanced travel hackers. I am looking for something more oriented to beginners... in Canada...
Thanks!

Travel hacking?? Is that collecting airmiles points to fly cheaply or freely? Not a term I've seen on here before.

It's an informal use of the word "hack," referring to "a tip, trick or efficient method for doing or managing something," according to Dictionary.com. In this case, it's travel.

There are classes: https://ftuniversity.com/

. . . and this popular blog: http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/

When it comes to travel, there has been and will continue to be lots of changes and developments. It takes quite a bit of effort to stay informed. Some blogs and Web sites, including this one, can help. But perhaps the best lessons learned come from personal experience: When you travel a lot, you can learn a lot. That's part of the joy of travel.

Thanks! The ftuniversity site looks interesting - but still very American. I did find one Canadian site: www.boomer traveller.com that looks Canadian, not a lot there yet (oldest post is from tis August, so at least its up-to-date info), but starts at the beginning, which is good for me. Nice pictures too.

Keep in mind that many of the strategies for cost-efficient travel are universal; and not country specific.

I am looking for something more oriented to beginners... in Canada...
Thanks!

By FAR the best thing you can do to learn is simply back away from the computer screen... leave your house... and travel.

Cheers,
Terry
